Here now.

I fight this battle every day. I beat myself up for being here, in the present. I punish myself for the past, and worry myself to disablement in fear of failing in the future. So here (the present) the only time ill ever be in, i spend miserable, in stressed hysterics. I’m trying to work on not living this way, and to be presently proactive and healthy and not be self ridiculing.

Consistent work.

I am in the process of learning that life is not lived in a day. Just because you have not achieved the success you desire today, does not mean you will not in the future. It is hard to wake up and face a day of sameness, of all you have ever known. When, what you desire most is a change, and to move forward. But to move forward you have to live, you have to face each day, and endure the process, because the process of growing and reaching success, is where we are humbled, it’s our lives, and if we wish it away, kicking and screaming the entire way, we are not living. Wake up each day, and face it with consistent fight. Know your goal, and where you want to go, and get to work.. but know there will be setbacks along the way, it is life and inevitable. And if it were not for setbacks, we would not appreciate the end goal, or small successes along the way. Now, this does not mean you can become comfortable and complacent, because then you will settle, and believe that if things are bad or difficult that there’s no way out, this is it, life will not change for you. And that is not okay, there should never be a time when you are not growing and learning.

I am no master at this, I am working diligently to master this though. I do have days where everything seems completely impossible and hopeless, like there is no way i’ll get to where I want to be. And on these days I have to remind myself that I am working, I am growing, I am learning, and I am fighting. Hard work does pay off. I also have days where I feel like I can do this. And on these days it provides me with momentum for the next day.

Goal for anyone who follows my blog, reads it, or stumbles across it. Drink more water, cut out sodas, juices, and sugary drinks. I promise after a few days you will feel better.. Keep going and soon you will not even desire to drink the artificial poison that’s currently your addiction. #starthydrating

Yesterday is dead, and over.

My perfect morning consists of.. waking up slowly. Eating a wholesome nutritious breakfast. Watching the fog dissipate with the rising morning sun. A mug of coffee, that I get to sip slowly. A glass of water to balance out the dehydrating properties of caffeine. Then to go on a nice run. Slow mornings, are my favorite perfect mornings.

One of my all time FAVORITE oatmeal recipes. It’s especially delicious in the fall and winter, but I love it all year long.
Banana Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal
1/2 cup of old fashioned or steel cut oats (your choice)
Whole banana
1/2 cup or 1 cup of pumpkin puree (your choice)
cinnamon
truvia or stevia or honey for sweetener (your choice)
slivered almonds for crunch if desired
**cook oats according to canisters directions
**mix in pumpkin puree, cinnamon (as much as desired), and sweetener of your choice.
**slice and mix banana
**top with slivered almonds
Full of beta carotene and fiber, and low in fat. I’m telling you such a good bowl of nutrition, that tastes sinful. Eat for breakfast or as a dessert.
Enjoy <3

Eating Clean… On a budget.

Eating organic and clean can be quite expensive. I thought I’d post some tips that help me eat as cleanly as possible without leaving me completely broke.

—Take advantage of buy one get one deals. (Kashi, Amy’s, Cascadian Farms.. run deals on their products often)

—Don’t worry about buying organic bananas, you’ll be peeling it anyway.

—DO buy organic milk, eggs, and meat. You do not want to be consuming added growth hormones.

—Kroger brand organic Greek yogurt is ALL NATURAL.. zero artificial flavor, coloring, or sweeteners. I was thrilled when I found this a year ago.. 89cents a yogurt.. awesome save compared to Oikos 1.59$.

—Raw Almonds, it doesnt matter what brand. Sometimes I find deals that are buy one get one.. TAKE advantage, almonds are expensive.

—Old Fashioned or Steel Cut Oats is a must have staple in the pantry. I always buy store brand.. typically 1.50$ cheaper.. and Oats are Oats. ( do not eat the flavored artificial processed quick packs) it’s more fun to create your own oatmeal flavors anyway.. plus you can add anything literally.

—Browse your local grocers adds before hitting the market.. you might be surpised to find better deals somewhere else than your normal go to grocer.

—Kroger’s organic products are a bit cheaper than the name brands. I buy there organic peanut butter.. and save about 3 dollars a container.

Cheers to savings.
